My new portfolio project was meant to be both a showcase for my work as well as an exercise in WordPress development. I ended up using the FoundationPress theme for the project, and haven’t regretted that. It has made development a breeze: automated SASS compilation (and mixins!), live reloading the site and just a good set of tools to start with. I’ve strayed quite far from the initial theme, and I feel like the theme, with its whimsy colors and all, fits me pretty well. Besides, the project taught me a lot about WordPress, which I had been only somewhat familiar with beforehand.
